Our daughter, Ava, is chasing her swimming dreams, and she needs your help!

This 6 ft tall (Yes, she's really that tall), 14-year-old Swimmer isn't just making waves. Blessed with a natural talent and relentless dedication to her sport she has already achieved:

• Full Regional Colours - 2021, 2022 & 2023.
• Full School Colours for swimming in 2021, 2022 & 2023.
• Qualified to compete at Regional Championships (long & short course) – 2021, 2022 & 2023.
• Qualified to compete at the South African National Short course Champs in 2023
• Qualified to Compete at the South African National Junior Champs in 2022 & 2023 and has already qualified for 2024.
• Selected to represent the Western Cape at South African National Schools Champs in 2023.

But her eyes are set on a bigger prize: Representing her country at the Olympics in 2028.

This is where YOU come in...

Chasing an Olympic dream and to continue to compete at the highest possible level requires intensive training, specialized nutrition and regular travel. Unfortunately, the ongoing costs of “keeping her in the pool” are staggering and far beyond our family's means.

Our immediate need is to be able to cover the cost of the following:

• ·         3-day Elite training Camp – January 2024.
• ·        Travel and Accommodation – SA National Junior Champs (SANJ) – March 2024

We estimate that these 2 events will cost us in the region of R20 000 if only 1 parent travels with Ava to SANJ… So our fundraising goal is set at R20 000.

However, we will keep this campaign going and give regular updates as Ava continues on her journey and we would like to ask that you share our campaign, where appropriate, with your networks as Ava’s career is just getting started and future contributions will certainly help us cover Ava’s ongoing swimming expenses, as follows:

• Coaching fees (Squad & Private)
• Swimming Gear (Race Suits, Training aids, etc)
• Travel expenses
• Nutritional supplements
• Medical expenses (Physiotherapy included)

We would also love to be able to afford a Sports Psychologist and to get her into a Biokinetics program to ensure that her physical development is ongoing, but still age appropriate.
