It is with a mix of emotions that I reach out to you today, penning down a letter that lays bare the challenges my family is facing.

My name is Anique, and I am the mother of a vibrant 6-year-old boy named Armandt.

Armandt is a beautiful soul, a little angel whose infectious smile has the power to light up the darkest corners of the world. His laughter is a source of joy, spreading contagiously to everyone lucky enough to be within earshot.

He is not just loved; he is cherished by many, especially by his daddy, myself, and a host of others who have been touched by his presence. Our lives revolve around him, and our love for him is boundless.

However, amidst the joy and laughter, we have come face to face with a challenge. Armandt has been diagnosed with autism and is experiencing some developmental delays. Over the past couple of years, we noticed nuances in his behavior that led us to seek professional evaluation.

The verdict was delivered by a doctor, revealing that Armandt is autistic. But that was not the end of it. Further evaluations by an Occupational Therapist and an Audiologist were recommended to determine his readiness for regular schooling.

As we delved into understanding autism and its intricacies, my husband and I realized the crucial role that intensive one-on-one therapy plays in enabling Armandt to lead a functional life and communicate effectively. However, the financial burden associated with this therapy is substantial, and we were informed that it could be prohibitively expensive.

Despite the daunting prospect of reaching out to strangers for help, the love we have for our son compels us to take this step. We are seeking assistance from generous hearts to ensure that Armandt receives the therapy he needs.

We are reaching out to raise R6000 to cover the costs of Armandt's appointments and therapy. Living in an area without easy access to state hospitals has made our situation even more challenging, prompting us to turn to the community for support.
