Personal message

My sister Anneke van Tonder age 38 has been diagnosed with stage 3 Invasive Carcinoma in her left breast.

She is currently going for Red Devil Chemo therapy at Chris Hani Baragwanath hospital which is located near Soweto and she lives in Sasolburg, +-75 km away. She has to go there every 2 weeks for the Red devil Chemo and after the next session has to go for the operation to remove the cancer.

After the operation she has to drive up and down to Johannesburg General hospital for radiation, we are still unsure for how many sessions and after that every week for 12 weeks for lighter Chemo therapy and then still have to drive up every month after that to collect medication that she have to use for 10 years.

They find themselves in a very tight financial position as she is a single mother to a 15 year old boy that needs to go to school and needs to eat etc. She does not earn a big salary and still have expenses every month that leaves her with very little money for traveling for her treatments.

We are looking for any donations that will help with fuel and food for them to get through this process as they find themselves without money for food due to expensive travel related expenses as that is the only hospital that helps out patients with Chemo Therapy.

Please if you can find it in your heart to help, any donations will be highly appreciated.

My sister Anneke van Tonder, 38, is battling stage 3 Invasive Carcinoma in her left breast.

Currently undergoing Red Devil Chemo at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital near Soweto, she commutes 75 km from Sasolburg every two weeks. Following chemo, she faces surgery, then travel to Johannesburg General Hospital for radiation and subsequent lighter chemo sessions over 12 weeks. Additionally, she'll need to travel monthly for 10 years to collect necessary medication.

As a single mother with a 15-year-old son, Anneke's financial situation is tight, given her modest income and ongoing expenses. Seeking help with travel and food costs, we appreciate any donations to support them during this challenging time.

Your generosity will make a significant difference in their journey.
