Personal message
Most people call me Gus,
I'm married to Heather, and together we have two beautiful children and three crazy dogs.
I love cycling, and I am so excited to have this opportunity to ride the Cape Town Cycle Tour and raise funds and awareness for a child at Home of Hope. The most exciting thing about this campaign is that every cent donated goes to helping James.
James is nine years old and has a heart of gold, and he struggles daily as a result of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder which is permanent brain damage caused by prenatal exposure to alcohol.
In addition to dealing with cognitive, emotional and behavioural challenges, James has dealt with unforeseen illnesses that have resulted in him being in and out of the hospital and losing one leg.
But James is a fighter, and nothing keeps that little boy back. He loves to play outside with his friends, play on the jungle gym, run around and enjoy life.
Cycling on the Tygerberg mountains and around the Cape Peninsula is such a joy even though I'm not that fast! Please support me in giving thanks for the enjoyment of cycling and being able to help Home of Hope help this beautiful, determined and joyful little boy.
I would like to raise R12000.00 for James's daily education and health.
