Personal message
Hi, my name is Zaidah. I'm the mother of a beautiful little boy who beat all odds since the day he was born. Ammar Abrahams was born on the 7th of May 2021, because his father and I chose to give our son a fighting chance despite the Doctor advising us to abort him.
Ammar developed water on the brain at 29 weeks in utero; the pressure was so bad my boy had 2 slivers of brain left, and the Doctor said a person without a brain can't survive. We prayed and chose to love him for whatever amount of time we had.
I was told 2 seconds maybe none; he wouldn't breathe on his own, he wouldn't be able to eat on his own, he would be a vegetable. My son came out screaming! His head was so large it took 4 Doctors to get him out, but he came out screaming.
My son is turning 3 this year 2024, and I remember how for the entire first year of his life I watched him so carefully for any sign of seizure, any sign of shunt malfunction. I lived in fear of the Doctor's warning he will not make a year.
My Ammar loves chocolate and the sound of a plastic bag is the funniest. He hates the sound of my cake machine, but he loves the cakes it makes. He cannot crawl or sit or walk, and cannot tell me how much he loves me when I ask him if he loves me. But he grabs my face, and I choose to believe that's his way of saying he does.
We desperately need help in getting him a wheelchair as his pram is way too small and uncomfortable, and he just doesn't get the support he needs. We were quoted by CE MOBILITY in Bloemfontein for about R82,000 for a wheelchair that meets his specific needs as well as mine being his primary caregiver and having to carry him around as a woman it becomes difficult.
Please help me to provide my boy with a much-needed wheelchair to provide him the head and body support he requires as well as something to move around in because for now we move him around in a shopping trolley as we have no choice.
Please and thank you.

Zaidah shares the remarkable story of her son Ammar, who defied medical odds since birth. Despite challenges, Ammar is turning three and brings joy with his love for chocolate and unique reactions to sounds. However, he urgently needs a wheelchair for better support and mobility, as his current pram is inadequate. Zaidah seeks assistance to afford a wheelchair that meets Ammar's specific needs and makes caregiving easier. Your support in providing Ammar with this essential tool would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for considering their request.
