Personal message

In June 2011 at just 3 months old our son Adriaan was diagnosed with Hepatoblastoma (It is an uncommon malignant liver cancer occurring in infants and children and composed of tissue resembling fetal liver cells, mature liver cells, or bile duct cells. They usually present with an abdominal mass. The disease is most commonly diagnosed during a child's first three years of life).

It was a very trying time having Adriaan go through Chemotheraphy and a partial Hepatectomy (a surgical resection removal of all or part of the liver). Having spent a lot of time in isolation with him in hospital and with other kids fighting their own cancer battles, and seeing how it affects families of cancer fighters and those who receive their angel wings, Childhood Cancer Awareness and support is a cause that is very close to my heart.

Our son is now 7 years old, happy and healthy.  A True blessing. We can and should support organizations and families in need of assistance.
