Acer was born with esophageal deformaties a year ago to a feral mommy from a colony in Weltevredenpark.
At 6 months of age he underwent a myriad of daignostic tests with Dr Estee van Zyl at Fourways Veterinary Hospital which included an endoscopy.
The prognosis was not good as Dr Estee found scar tissue, inflammation and ulcers in his esophagus all the way down to the lower esophageal sphincter.
Acer responded wonderfully to the chronic medication prescribed and the inflammation and ulcers have subsided.
Unfortunately their seems to be scar tissue damage which need to be removed endoscopically. The estimated cost will be in the region of R20000.
