Personal message
Hi friends
Heneka Haven is a home for abandoned children with special needs. I have been involved at Heneka Haven for the past year and each minute I spend time with the children I grow more fond of them. Their smiles and love ignite hope in one's heart, encourage one to reach higher and reminds one of the love of Jesus Christ for His people. It is such a privilige to know them!!
I will be riding the 94.7 Cycle Challenge on 16 November 2014 for the benefit of Heneka Haven. Please support me and the kids and donate whatever you feel in your heart. The funds will exclusively go to Heneka Haven, to ensure that the children receive the best care. You can make a difference in the lives of 11 very special children!
Much love
Melissa

Haneka Haven

What is Heneka Haven? Based in Pretoria, and linked to the Doxa Deo East Church, Heneka Haven is a home caring for abandoned children with special needs. The biological parents usually abandon these children due to their severe mental and physical disabilities, which include being blind and deaf, suffering from epilepsy and a number of other serious conditions. Some are also HIV positive with a generally short life expectancy. History of the charity? Heneka Haven has existed for about ten years, at present we’ve got 11 children with us. What will the funds be used for? Our day to day expenses are very high, all of our babies is on nappies, due to their disabilities. We use more or less between 80 and 90 nappies per day, 2 of our bigger babies is on young adult nappies, which is very expensive. Due to their low immune systems they get sick very quick, so our medical expenses are very high.
