Personal message

On the 1st of December at 4 am in Cape Town, South Africa,  I set off to run the Ultra Trail Cape Town, 100km, to humbly raise R100 000 to help further the research on Bipolar, Depression, and Anxiety. The money raised will be donated to SADAG.ORG - South African Depression & Anxiety group.

My father has deeply struggled with Depression and Bi-polar. I too suffer from depression, however, through the support of various kinds and through the continuous practice of conscious shifts in lifestyle and perception - no mean feat,  I have come to realize that the research into mental health Must deepen and Not end with only medication as a solution.

As some may be aware, Mental Illness and the stigma surrounding it is a critical issue in South Africa and the world over and through this run, I not only would like to bring light to this particular condition but how I personally can continue to develop an understanding into my own relationship with the mind. I do this through a myriad of activities and distance running is one of them.

I do hope you'll support the initiative and I hope to see you all at the finish line!
