About 2 years ago S4J started supporting Beja people in Egypt, with severe eye problems, to receive examinations and needed operations. These took place, either in al-Germaniyya hospital in Aswan, other medical centers in Aswan, or through befriended doctors in Cairo.

This generous donation has been a turning point in the life of several people, as they could start interacting again with others in a normal way after they have been a severely limited insight for a long time.

In addition to the medical help, people have been exposed to the love of God, through the way our team members have welcomed and walked alongside them during the whole process. If needed we were even able to provide accommodation and/or food. Many good and deep conversation has evolved through that.

For the coming time we would suggest widening the scope of the project in two directions:

1.Including other medical needs of Beja in Egypt: In the past few months we have received several requests to support the Beja in other operations and examinations. Unfortunately, we have only been able to help in some cases through other sources or through the general charity fund we have as al-Germaniyya, but often we had to deny the request, due to missing funds. With all requests, we search about the economic situation of the family and let the family contribute according to their financial possibilities.

2.Including medical outreaches to Shalateen: For a few years we have been able doing medical outreaches to Shalateen, which made a huge difference to the Beja population. Unfortunately, we received various problems with the necessary legal papers to run these medical outreaches, so that we had to stop them 4 years ago.

Due to the change of central people, we have great hope that we can restart the medical outreaches this year and would appreciate funding for them.
